Many Pilates Instructors feel that we need to give the athlete a lot of advanced work – when what they really need is cross-training. In most sports, certain muscle groups are overtrained while others are undertrained. In this workshop, you will learn how to help athletes enhance their performance by teaching them to work differently than they do in their sport. You will also learn about common injuries encountered in specific sports such as golf, tennis and running. Samantha has over 15 years’ experience working with athletes to rehabilitate their injuries. She will share her knowledge of these injuries as well as tips on which exercises, or in some cases modifications, are appropriate for different situations. This interactive workshop will deal with structuring sessions according to the BASI Pilates approach and principals, while keeping in mind the specific needs of the athlete.
